TO ALL IAMAW MEMBERS YYZ TORONTO PEARSON AIRPORT UPDATE ON VOLUNTARY VACCINATIONS

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAMAW) representatives have been
working collectively with other Union groups through the Toronto Airport Workers’ Council (TAWC)
and the Toronto Pearson Worker Health and Safety Forum (TPWHSF), together with the GTAA and
Peel Regional Health Authority to ensure an efficient and effective vaccination rollout for airport
workers who choose to be vaccinated within our airport community.

We know that members have been inquiring about the availability of vaccines for frontline airport
workers and when they will become accessible. Recently the provincial government released details
regarding phase two of the vaccination rollout, we can confirm that this includes airport workers falling
within the transportation group. Depending on the availability of vaccines, the current projected
timeline for phase two is late spring to summer. Details of the plan can be found here:

The GTAA has been working together with the Peel Regional Health Authority, as our region falls
within their jurisdiction and has offered facility space to accommodate a mass vaccination clinic within
the airport or at an accessible location nearby. Once established, these clinics would be available to
airport workers that choose to receive a vaccination.
The IAMAW has put forward a list of contacts that will assist in the vaccination rollout, these
representatives will be responsible for promoting the availability and locations of clinic spaces, and
providing our membership within Local Lodges 2323, 2921, and 2413 relevant information as it
becomes available. Your Union, in partnership with other labour groups within our airport community,

will continue to advocate for an accessible location as well as transportation to and from the clinic, if
the space is offsite and/or for workers that do not work near the terminals.
We look forward to sharing more information with the membership, as it become available.

In solidarity,
Dan Janssen
General Chairperson
Central Region
