The Agenda for this meeting was as follows:
Joint initial session with introduction of bargaining teams
Presentation by Union of initial proposals for consideration by BA
Opportunity for BA to review and request clarifications from Union on initial proposals
Discussion of any other matters including scheduling of subsequent bargaining dates
The Committee brought up issues and offered initial discussions & proposals associated to:
CTO & PTO definitions, processes and procedures
Shift changes on General/Statutory holidays
Job security (LOU 14 language & PT severance entitlements)
TRC/RSC responsibilities and compensation
Team Lead position, responsibilities and compensation for YUL operation
Safety shoes, uniform cleaning & bereavement allowances
The Bargaining Committee will be reviewing the costing disclosure that BA very recently provided before it tables any specific monetary proposals such as wage increases, etc.
The parties have blocked off dates later next month (May), where we hope to reach a tentative agreement that can be voted upon by the membership.
The IAMAW Bargaining Committee will keep you updated, as we move forward through this negotiation process.
