GTAA Annual Public Meeting Bulletin
Complimentary parking is available at registration table.
The participation and direction from the IAMAW, along with others from the labour community was instrumental in bringing about meaningful discussions that are leading to important changes for workers at YYZ.
We now have a firm commitment from the GTAA for an Airport wide Safety Committee with designated seats for Representatives from the many Unions at Pearson Airport. The structure of this Committee is being developed and it should have its inaugural meeting in June.
We are also working with the GTAA, the Toronto Airport Workers Council and others in an effort to develop a fair and reasonable AVOP Appeals Process, as the current process has little transparency and is negatively affecting our members and other airport workers.
Furthermore, the GTAA has agreed to implement a best practice study at Pearson Airport. There will be three formal phases in this agreed upon process designed to deal with a variety of issues including the $15 minimum wage, worker successor rights and our Airport workforce’s demographics.
and how workforce composition, contracting and labour relationships are managed by other Airports of comparable size and governance.
This year we need your help in sending a STRONG message to the GTAA and our Federal Government. Please join us at this year’s annual public meeting denouncing the privatization of Pearson and other Canadian airports.
