All Members at Bearskin Airlines

Status of Negotiations

Please be advised that your Bargaining Committee has received and reviewed the bargaining surveys that were distributed to the membership in April. Your Committee greatly appreciates the positive input and feedback that you supplied regarding this initial survey.
I have recently spoken with the Company regarding their availability for the purposes of commencing negotiations. They have indicated that they will be available to meet, to begin bargaining in early September. Although this is after the normal expiration date of your collective agreement (August 31st), it is somewhat commonplace and retroactivity on wages, etc. is routinely bargained.
As per the Canada Labour Code and your present CBA, your contract will continue in full force and effect until a new agreement has been reached.

In the meantime, your Bargaining Committee is making arrangements to meet prior to September and is also planning on holding a meeting in August for the membership in Thunder Bay.
Mike Corrado is in the midst of bargaining with our Brothers and Sisters employed Field Aviation, Innotech Aviation, and our newest members at American Eagle.
I have also recently organized Dryden Air Services/ASIG in Ottawa and am involved in Labour Board proceedings for this group.
Due to my current busy work schedule, I have requested the assistance one of my senior colleagues from Winnipeg to aid in this round of bargaining. His background is that of aviation maintenance and his experience, knowledge and expertise should prove to be an invaluable asset to the membership at Bearskin Airlines.
Members with any specific proposal suggestions, questions, or concerns are encouraged to contact me via email or telephone at the Central Region office.
