Your Bargaining Committee consisting of Shawn Dewan, Tom Morrison, David Boire, Ronald Lafleur and myself (Michael Corrado) met in Conciliation on January 15th & 16th with Company representatives Andrew Fifield (General Manager), Beata Belfer (Human Resources & Labour Relations Advisor) and Wendy Bulbuck (National Labour Relations Director).
The government assigned conciliator/mediator Mr. Michael Lalonde attended and presided over these bargaining sessions.
We were able to finalize most all the non monetary proposals during these 2 days of bargaining and began discussions on financial matters such as wages, benefits, etc.
The parties agreed to extend the conciliation period until February 9th as progress was made over the past couple of days and dates were set to reconvene bargaining on February 4th and 5th.
Please be patient and respectful to your Bargaining Committee throughout this process. They are engaged in the Federal Fight For $15 and Fairness campaign which has recently arrived and is taking off at the Ottawa airport.
We are committed to keeping you informed throughout this process and will do so by issuing periodic Negotiating Updates.
The Union may also elect to hold town hall meetings to inform and advise the membership in the event that contract negotiations stall or become frustrated.
Members are urged to send an email to the email address below if they wish to receive bargaining updates and contract voting information.
In solidarity,
Michael Corrado
