More than 12 workers are killed daily because of traumatic injury at work. More than 135 die from occupational-related diseases. Workers’ Memorial Day is an annual observation that honors those who lost their lives due to occupational illness or injury. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the observance, which began in California. Watch this video to see how the IAMAW observed this special day at the William W. Winpisinger Center in Hollywood, MD, where the names of fallen workers were read along with a bell-ringing ceremony.
