MEMBERS AT ASIG/DRYDEN AIR SERVICES OTTAWA AIRPORT
Re: Status of the IAM application for certification as the bargaining agent for all employees of ASIG/DRYDEN air services employed at The MacDonald-Cartier International Airport in Ottawa.
The employees excluded are: Office, Clerical and Sales Staff, Students employed during the school vacation period, Supervisors and those above the rank of Supervisor.
Please be advised that on August 9, 2013 the CIRB (Federal Labour Board) granted Certification to the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAMAW) to act as the Bargaining Agent for the employees with ASIG/Dryden Air Services at the Ottawa Airport. We can finally begin the process of nominating and electing workplace representatives (Union Stewards) that will also serve on your Negotiation/Bargaining Committee.
Over the next few days, the Union will be announcing a date for a meeting(s) of the employees at ASIG/Dryden Air Services that will likely take place within the next two (2) weeks. Details of the dates, times and locations will be released under a separate bulletin.
I look forward to meeting and working with each and every one of you in the days and years ahead. In the meantime, the employees’ normal rates of pay, etc. will continue to apply until a contract has been ratified.
Also no Union dues will be deducted until after you have voted on and ratified a Collective Agreement. On behalf of IAMAW and its membership, I would like to extend a warm welcome to our newest Brothers and Sisters employed at ASIG/Dryden Air Services.
