Dear Brothers and Sisters, As many of you are aware, the amount of Union Dues the Company deducted from your pay cheques was not included in Box 44 of the 2017 T4 Slips.
Unfortunately, this is not the first time this has happened as the same mistake was made on the 2015 & 2016 T4 slips.
The Union is utterly disappointed as it reminded the Company on multiple occasions commencing in late 2017 of its previous 2015 & 2016 T4 blunders and urged, reminded and pleaded with the Company to make 100% sure that this would not happen again this year.
The Union and the Company are trying to resolve this mishap. As per the law, the T4 Slips must be distributed on or before the last day of February (February 28, 2018).
The Union has since filed a grievance requesting:
– The Company immediately issue correct & amended T4’s to all present and past employees.
– The Company issue a letter apologizing and indicating that the Union reminded the Company well in advance of the T4’s being issued.
– A fair and reasonable financial penalty to be imposed upon the Company because of this repetitive mistake.
