IAMAW Members at YYZ -International Workers Day (May Day)

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

A YYZ Street Festival will be held again this year on Monday May 1st by the
Inukshuks at the Terminal 1 Departure Level (curbside) from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm.

The purpose of this festival is to celebrate International Workers Day and the
accomplishments made by the IAMAW and the Toronto Airport Workers Council.
Collectively we have raised considerable awareness to the important issues
facing our members and the workers within our airport community/Canada’s
largest workplace.

The Greater Toronto Airports Authority heard the collective voices of YYZ
workers last year when a “$15 and Fairness” petition containing well over 4000
signatures was presented. The petition called for the implementation of a living
wage, an end to the perils of contract flipping along with other improved
conditions for workers at Pearson.

Please come join us for this family friendly event by showing that you care and
take pride in; your job, your airport community and your Union.

I urge that IAMAW members attending do so before work, after work or on their
own time so that airport operations and/or your jobs with your respective
employers are not negatively affected in any way.

Hope to see you there.

In solidarity,

Michael Corrado
Regional Assistant Directing General Chairperson
Central Region
