TO ALL IAM & AW MEMBERS
ELECTION OF DISTRICT LODGE OFFICERS<\/h3>\n

Dear Brothers and Sisters:<\/p>\n

Elections will be held at this year\u2019s District Lodge 140 Convention for the following positions:<\/p>\n

1) President and Directing General Chairperson (PDGC)<\/p>\n

2) Secretary Treasurer (ST)<\/p>\n

The term for both the PDGC and ST will be four (4) years commencing January 1, 2017.<\/p>\n

Full qualifications for Office are detailed in Article 5.07 of the District Lodge 140 Bylaws however, to highlight the qualifications, Candidates must:<\/p>\n

a) be members who are and have been in continuous good standing for at least two (2) years prior to the date of the close of District Lodge nominations. They shall also be free from delinquencies of any nature to a Local Lodge, District Lodge, or Grand Lodge.<\/strong><\/p>\n

b) have attended 50% of their Local Lodge\u2019s regular quorum meetings that their shifts or assignments would allow during the 12 months prior to the close of District Lodge nominations.<\/strong><\/p>\n

c) any member wishing to be a candidate for any District Lodge Executive Board position must submit his\/her letter of acceptance<\/strong> that if nominated he\/she would accept the nomination and forward it to the Secretary-Treasurer of District Lodge 140 at least thirty (30) days prior to the opening of the Convention<\/strong>. Along with this letter of acceptance, the member must submit the necessary proof that he\/she meets all the requirements for the position. This proof shall be a certified letter<\/strong> from his or her Local Lodge Recording Secretary, stating that the nominee meets the eligibility requirements<\/strong> of this Article.<\/p>\n

Nominations will take place at the Convention, but nominees must have submitted their letters of \u201cacceptance of nomination\u201d and \u201ccertification of eligibility\u201d prior to September 16, 2016<\/strong> to be considered an eligible nominee.<\/p>\n
